Bahá’í Youth hang together during the Fast

It was just after midday and Saaghar and I walked out of the car park and stepped into Selfridges of the Birmingham Bullring. We looked around for a while, I was holding my fast, trying not to get tempted by the Sushi Bars and restaurants. Saaghar becomes 15 at the end of the fast, so she got to eat anything! We walked out and stood in the in the main section of the Bullring, waiting for the Ziaie Clones and Yusef to arrive. After 5 minutes, Ashkan arrived with a friend of his, we where introduced and soon after, Aryan arrived too. He had received a call and Yusef was about to pull into the train station, so we hurried off, going up escalators, through
doors and around corners until we reached the station to pick up Yusef.

And now the day trip really began…after greetings and hugs for everyone from Yusef, we discussed where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do. We walked up the stairs and out of the train station and walked around for a while, talking about the last youth weekend and where the next one should be.

Yusef stopped us at every single J.D. Sports shop in Birmingham, about 5 I think, and walked us in to look at the same shoe every time, the Air Max.

After a couple of stops at a few random stores, we entered the huge Gamestation in Birmingham, seeing the sign, me and Yusef rushed for the retro section downstairs, a couple of old arcade machines and a whole lot of old video games. We spent about an hour down there, talking and looking at things. Saaghar and I branched off to look at other things in the shop, I even managed to grab a quick picture with Solid Snake and King Kong. dscf1227.jpgAfter a long hour, we left the shop and where discussing whether we should break the fast, but we decided to be strong and not give into the temptation. We walked all the way backed to where we first started so Saaghar could buy a donut, and she ate it in front of us, emphasizing the delicious taste…

Anyway, it was just over an hour before Saaghar and I had to hop back into the car and make the journey back to Kettering, so Yusef led us around showing us the old church. Then took us to a library/bookstore/CD shop/DVD shop…where Saaghar and Yusef became MEGA rebels and laid down on the floor. Everyone looked around and talked in the gentle atmosphere of the shop.

Then Saaghar got the call from her mum, and it was time for us to go, so we all got up and rushed back to the car park, not before taking a few last photos…
Thanks to the guys that came and next time…there will be a huge get together for a lot more people
